Michael Bradley Appointed as NY Red Bulls II Head Coach

Michael Bradley has been officially appointed as the head coach of New York Red Bulls II — marking his debut as a head coach in his nascent coaching career.

Prior to securing this position, the 37-year-old has gathered valuable experience — he served on the coaching staff of Norwegian club Stabaek under his father Bob Bradley, and worked as a “guest coach” with the Canadian national team alongside Jesse Marsch.

“This is a dream opportunity as a young coach. I’m incredibly excited to return to where my professional career began,” Bradley stated. “I’m grateful to the club for this opportunity and can’t wait to get started.”

The former United States international boasts an impressive career record — accumulating 151 caps for the national team, scoring 17 goals, and participating in the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. Throughout his career, he has represented several prestigious clubs:

  • SC Heerenveen
  • Borussia Mönchengladbach
  • Aston Villa
  • Chievo Verona
  • AS Roma
  • Toronto FC

New York Red Bulls sporting director, Julian de Guzman, welcomed Bradley’s arrival — describing him as one of the greatest American soccer players ever and viewing him as a promising coaching talent.
