Prediksi Meksiko vs Arab Saudi di Piala Emas CONCACAF (29.06.2025)

On Sunday, June 29 at 09:15 WIB, Mexico and Saudi Arabia will face off at State Farm Stadium in Glendale in the quarterfinals of the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Mexico topped Group A, although they only edged out Costa Rica on goal difference. Saudi Arabia finished second in Group D, unable to compete with the United States but finishing ahead of Trinidad & Tobago and Haiti.

In the Mexico vs Saudi Arabia matchup, bookmakers clearly favor the North American side. A bet on “El Tri” to win in regular time is priced at 1.43, and their odds to advance to the next round are 1.19. For the “Green Falcons,” the same markets are at 8.00 and 4.70 respectively. Experts do not expect a high-scoring game: over 2.5 total goals is priced at 2.06, and the odds for both teams to score is 2.31.

Mexico

Javier Aguirre’s team did not have the most convincing group stage performance. They conceded twice against the Dominican Republic and failed to score in their final match against Costa Rica. Yes, they still finished top of their group, but fans expected much more from the recent CONCACAF Nations League champions.

Much more is expected from the attacking duo of Thomas Jimenez (AC Milan) and Raul Jimenez (Fulham). So far, the team’s top scorer is defender Cesar Montes from Lokomotiv Moscow. The question now is whether the coaching staff is holding something back or if Mexico entered the tournament out of form.

Saudi Arabia

Hervé Renard’s team only needed two goals in the group stage to reach the quarterfinals. The decisive result was a 1-0 win over Haiti. In the final round, a 1-1 draw against Trinidad & Tobago was enough to see them through. Whether such results justify the Saudi government’s partnership with CONCACAF is a rhetorical question.

The “Falcons” are struggling heavily in attack. In the match against Trinidad, they dominated possession but could only manage a 60th-minute equalizer.

Stats and Head-to-Head Record

At the 2022 World Cup, Mexico beat Saudi Arabia 2-1 in the group stage. However, a goal by Saudi Arabia in the 95th minute ultimately prevented “El Tri” from reaching the knockout stage.

Prediction

In the recent CONCACAF Nations League playoffs, no match involving Mexico ended with fewer than two goals. With bookmakers expecting a low-scoring game, we’ll take advantage of the odds and play it safe: over 2 total goals at 1.55.
