Messi Sets New MLS Record with Multiple Goals in Four Consecutive Games

Lionel Messi achieved another historic milestone while leading Inter Miami CF to a 2-1 victory over New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The Argentine superstar became the first player in Major League Soccer history to score multiple goals in four consecutive matches — all resulting in victories.

Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano expressed his admiration:

“Leo is a special player. For me, he’s the best player that has played this sport in history. It’s unbelievable how he continues doing things that maybe many years ago we thought we couldn’t see at this stage.”

Messi’s two goals in this match elevated him to second place in the MLS scoring charts this season with 14 goals — just two behind Nashville’s Sam Surridge. The 38-year-old has also contributed seven assists in his 15 MLS appearances this season.

Inter Miami now sits in fifth place, seven points behind leaders FC Cincinnati with three games in hand. Mascherano’s team will return to action against Nashville SC at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
