Lionel Messi led Inter Miami to a historic 2-1 victory over Porto in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup match at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta.

A spectacular free kick from Messi in the 54th minute — his 50th goal for Inter Miami — put his team ahead after trailing in the first half through a penalty.

Telasco Segovia emerged as Miami’s other hero — the midfielder scored the equalizer with a powerful shot into the top corner from Marcelo Weigandt’s cross.

This victory made history — marking the first time a CONCACAF confederation team has defeated a European club in FIFA international club competitions, following a previous record of 0 wins, 3 draws, and 10 losses.
