Messi scores beautiful goal, Inter Miami defeats Porto in Club World Cup

Lionel Messi led Inter Miami to a 2-1 victory over Porto in Group A of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Porto took the lead through Samuel Oghehowa in the eighth minute — but Inter Miami bounced back in the second half. Telasco Segovia equalized in the 47th minute before Messi completed the comeback with a free kick in the 54th minute.

The captain executed the set piece from outside the penalty box — his shot flew into the right corner of the goal past Porto’s defensive wall. The opposing goalkeeper could not reach the ball that was precisely placed by the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner.
