Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi has ended her partnership with Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks — the team that led her to remarkable achievements in this season’s Korean Volleyball League.

The opposite player who emerged as the league’s top scorer helped her team reach the finals — an achievement that seemed impossible, especially considering the squad’s injury conditions.

Although Red Sparks expressed interest in extending her contract, Megawati chose to return to Indonesia for family reasons. She did not register for either foreign player or Asian quota tryouts for the upcoming season.

“Maybe I will return to Korea, who knows in the future, so please support me wherever I am, and continue to support Red Sparks too,” stated Megawati.

Megawati‘s decision to return home marks the end of an era with Red Sparks and leaves a significant gap in the team’s lineup.

Her presence in the squad was crucial to their success this season—and her departure will undoubtedly be felt by both her teammates and fans.
