Megawati Hangestri leaves Red Sparks after best season in Korea

Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi ends her journey with South Korean volleyball club Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks — a week after the conclusion of 2024-2025 Korean Volleyball League.

The Jember-born player has been a key figure for Red Sparks over the past two seasons — with her best achievement being this season’s finals appearance.

In the final series against Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders, Ko Hee-jin‘s team had to acknowledge their opponent’s superiority with a 2-3 aggregate in the best of five format.

Although Red Sparks had prepared a new contract for the player — Megawati decided to return to Indonesia due to her mother’s consideration.
