Megawati Hangestri becomes first Indonesian female volleyball player in Turkish League

Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi opens a new chapter in Indonesian volleyball history — joining Manisa Buyuksehir Belediyespor Spor Kulubu in the Turkish League.

The newly-wed player becomes the first Indonesian female volleyball athlete who will compete in the country that spans two continents.

Manisa Buyuksehir Belediyespor — a team recently promoted to Kadinlar Voleybol 1.Ligi or Turkish League second division for the 2025-2026 season.

Interestingly, this competition also features Ceren Kapucu — a Turkish player who previously strengthened Bandung BJB Tandamata in the 2023 Proliga.
