Mees Hilgers returns to Twente training while seeking new club

Mees Hilgers continues his activities with FC Twente — despite being in the process of seeking a new club for the upcoming season.

Like most European football players currently enjoying the competition break, the Indonesian national team defender is also taking his holiday allowance.

According to Twente Insite, Hilgers is scheduled to rejoin the Twente squad for training sessions this Thursday.

The defender missed the friendly match against Motherwell held this Tuesday. Although still registered as a Twente player, Hilgers is unlikely to represent the club in the 2025-2026 season — however, no serious offers have come his way so far.
