McLaren Dominates F1 Ahead of 2025 Emilia Romagna GP

Formula 1 is set to begin its European leg of the 2025 season with the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at the iconic Imola Circuit — kicking off a triple-header that includes the Monaco and Spanish Grands Prix.

McLaren has surprised many with its early-season form. Oscar Piastri currently tops the Drivers’ Championship with 131 points, closely followed by teammate Lando Norris on 115 points. Reigning world champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing trails in third with 99 points.

Verstappen’s past success at Imola

The race weekend begins on Friday with two practice sessions, continues with qualifying on Saturday, and culminates in the main race on Sunday afternoon, local time. Fans worldwide can tune in via official broadcasters.

Max Verstappen remains the most successful driver at Imola since the venue returned to the calendar in 2020 — winning three of the last four races. However, the lap record still belongs to Lewis Hamilton, who clocked 1:15.484 in 2020.

McLaren leads constructors’ standings

In the Constructors’ Championship, McLaren leads with 246 points, followed by Mercedes in second with 141 points, while Red Bull has dropped to third with 105 points.
