According to Motorsport.com analysis, McLaren has proven its dominance in the early 2025 Formula 1 season with the MCL39 emerging as the fastest car on the grid — both in qualifying and race conditions.

Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri consistently perform at the front, with the car showing excellent tire management. The Woking-based team leads the constructors’ championship with 61 points.

Red Bull sits third with equal points but heavily relies on Max Verstappen’s exceptional talent. After surprising driver changes, Yuki Tsunoda now partners the world champion.

George Russell leads Mercedes’ resurgence in second place, while rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli shows significant improvement. Ferrari still struggles to find optimal performance despite Lewis Hamilton’s arrival.

The midfield battle involves several teams:

  • Williams with Alex Albon consistently scoring points
  • Racing Bulls showing surprising pace potential
  • Alpine yet to score points despite having a competitive car
  • Aston Martin appears to be in a transition season towards 2026

Sauber and Haas compete at the back of the grid, occasionally scoring points when race conditions favor them.
