McLaren Collision: Stella Gives Full Support to Norris

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella offered his complete support to Lando Norris following a collision with teammate Oscar Piastri at the Canadian GP — an incident that prematurely ended Norris’s race.

The incident occurred as both McLaren drivers battled for fourth position with four laps remaining. Norris misjudged an overtaking attempt on Piastri’s left side — resulting in contact and fatal suspension damage after hitting the pit wall.

“It’s all on me,” Norris stated over team radio immediately after the incident.

Stella appreciated Norris’s immediate acceptance of responsibility. “We will have internal discussions, but there’s no doubt about our support for Lando,” he explained.

“The situation would be different if Lando had not taken responsibility and apologized. This is just a result of miscalculation that shouldn’t happen, but is still part of racing,” Stella added.

Piastri managed to finish the race in fourth position without significant damage to his car.
