McLaren Leads Upgrade Push at British Grand Prix with Key MCL39 Changes

JAKARTA, July 4, 2025McLaren headlines the list of teams bringing technical upgrades to the British Grand Prix, unveiling significant updates to their MCL39 in pursuit of continued dominance in the 2025 Formula 1 season.

The team, which currently leads the constructors’ championship by 207 points, has introduced floor revisions and rear brake duct modifications aimed at improving aerodynamic efficiency.

The changes are designed to enhance airflow behavior and suction distribution, resulting in optimized performance through corners. The updated rear brake ducts also contribute to cooling efficiency, offering both aerodynamic and thermal benefits.

Other teams join the Silverstone update parade:

  • Red Bull – Floor modifications targeting improved stability

  • Aston Martin – New floor package and bodywork enhancements

  • Haas – Updated flow structures on the VF-25 chassis

  • Racing Bulls – Introduction of a low-profile front wing

  • Williams & Sauber – Continued development of floor components

Reactions from the paddock

Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) noted the subtle nature of his team’s upgrade:

“It’s a smaller update compared to the Imola package — just minor tweaks to the floor that are barely visible as they’re underneath the car.”

Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu shared confidence in their direction:

“These updates should provide better grip and stability — which means more confidence. We hope it works as intended.”
