Mbappe Misses Real Madrid vs Al Hilal Match Due to Acute Gastroenteritis

Kylian Mbappe could not represent Real Madrid against Al Hilal in the 2024-2025 Club World Cup — Los Blancos’ key striker is suffering from acute gastroenteritis.

Real Madrid had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Al Hilal at Hard Rock Stadium in the first matchday of Group H — the absence of last season’s top scorer proved to be a significant setback for the team.

After the match, the club confirmed that Mbappe is undergoing treatment in hospital due to acute gastroenteritis — an inflammatory condition affecting the digestive tract including intestines and stomach.

“Our player Kylian Mbappe is suffering from acute gastroenteritis and is being treated in hospital for various tests and treatment,” read Real Madrid’s official statement.

Real Madrid’s medical team continues to monitor the French national team striker’s condition during his series of hospital examinations.
