Max Verstappen Unveils New ‘Orange Lion’ Helmet for Austrian GP

Max Verstappen introduces a new helmet ahead of the Austrian GP — Red Bull’s home campaign at the Red Bull Ring. The helmet, named Orange Lion, features a navy and orange color combination that complements his Red Bull car’s livery.

The reigning Formula 1 champion shared photos of his new helmet on Instagram with the caption “As special as ever” — garnering over 400,000 likes in a short time. The signature lion motif remains prominent on the helmet’s top section.

This helmet change comes at a crucial moment — Verstappen trails championship leader Oscar Piastri by 43 points and Lando Norris by 21 points. The Dutch driver is also dealing with a challenging situation holding 11 penalty points on his license.

“It’s very childish. That’s why I don’t want to say too much because this world we live in is really annoying,” Verstappen commented on his situation.

Team Principal Christian Horner acknowledged their challenges:

“Probably our weakness at the moment is in the medium speed type of corners. The middle sector has quite a bit of that, so we’ll see. I would expect McLaren to be stronger if it’s hot.”
