Max Verstappen Firmly Rejects Speculation About His Formula 1 Future

At a packed press conference at Silverstone Circuit, Max Verstappen firmly declined to answer questions about his Formula 1 future for the 2026 season.

Speaking to Viaplay after the press conference session, the Dutch driver responded casually:

“Well, they all got very short answers, so that was perfect actually”

Despite rumors about Mercedes approaches and speculation about a possible sabbatical, Verstappen confirmed his commitment to stay in F1 until 2028 — while planning to combine his career with GT3 racing.

Verstappen’s GT3 team just claimed a class victory at the Spa 24 Hours race last week. Regarding the 2026 F1 future, the four-time world champion acknowledged many uncertainties about who will be dominant under new regulations.

“No one can say 100 percent sure that they will be pretty comfortable next year. The only thing that I have to do is drive whatever I have fast,” said Verstappen about the upcoming regulatory challenges.
