Mauro Zijlstra Still Waiting for Indonesia Call-Up

Mauro Zijlstra, a talented striker for Volendam U-21 with Indonesian roots through his grandmother from Bandung, still has to wait before joining the Indonesia national football team.

The young forward has impressed this season with six goals and one assist in just five matches, but he will not be able to join the Garuda squad at least until June.

PSSI Executive Committee member Arya Sinulingga confirmed Zijlstra’s status.

“Regarding Mauro, it’s the same — we still have several administrative steps that need to be completed,” he said.

PSSI continues to monitor the progress of the Indonesian-blooded striker, but administrative procedures must be finalized before he can officially join the national team.
