Mauricio Souza confirms Riko Simanjuntak won’t return to Persija

According to Bolasport.com, Persija Jakarta coach Mauricio Souza has confirmed that Riko Simanjuntak will not return to the Macan Kemayoran squad for the 2025/2026 Liga 1 season.

This statement was delivered by Souza after leading team training at Persija Training Ground, Bojongsari, West Java — where the team is preparing for the new season.

Riko Simanjuntak, who was previously loaned to PSS Sleman in the second half of the 2024/2025 season — recorded three assists while wearing the Elang Jawa jersey.

Despite the 33-year-old player showing solid performance, PSS Sleman faced relegation from Liga 1 — ending Simanjuntak’s loan period from Persija Jakarta.
