Matt Brown: Ilia Topuria has potential to be equal to Jon Jones

According to MMAfighting, former UFC fighter Matt Brown shared his perspective on new UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria who recently defeated Charles Oliveira via first-round KO.

Topuria — who has now become UFC’s number one pound-for-pound fighter — received special attention from Brown who sees great potential in him.

“Ilia is at the threshold where we can compare him to Jon Jones,” stated Brown.

“If he beats Arman or perhaps Islam Makhachev drops to lightweight, or moves up to welterweight against Jack Della Maddalena — we’ll start talking about greatness on Jon Jones’ level and making comparisons,” he added.
