Matias Ibo returns to Indonesia national team as U-23 staff

According to Bolasport.com, Matias Ibo — physiotherapist during Alfred Riedl’s era — has joined Indonesia U-23 national team staff ahead of ASEAN Cup U-23 2025.

The 46-year-old professional has a long history with Indonesia national team — he started working with the senior squad from 2010 to 2013 under Alfred Riedl’s leadership.

Gerald Vanenburg, head coach of Indonesia U-23 national team, revealed the reason behind Ibo’s selection:

“You know, he has been with the National Team for a long time.”

Before returning to U-23 team, Ibo also handled various age-group national teams until 2016 — experience that became Vanenburg’s main consideration in bringing him back to the team.
