Mathys Tel officially joins Tottenham from Bayern Munich

Mathys Tel has officially joined Tottenham Hotspur from Bayern Munich on a permanent basis — following a successful loan spell in the second half of the 2024-25 season.

The young French striker made an impressive impact during his loan period — scoring two goals and providing one assist in 13 appearances for the North London club.

Tel was part of the Spurs squad that ended the club’s 17-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League. Despite the departure of the coach who brought him to the club, Ange Postecoglou, after the final — the 20-year-old chose to stay.

This permanent transfer marks new manager Thomas Frank’s first recruitment since taking over from Postecoglou at the helm of Tottenham Hotspur.
