Matheus Cunha joins Man United with new transfer record

Matheus Cunha has officially joined Manchester United from Wolverhampton Wanderers — becoming the club’s first signing of the 2025 summer transfer window.

The Red Devils spent 62.5 million pounds to acquire the 26-year-old Brazilian striker — setting a new transfer record under Ruben Amorim’s management.

In the club’s history, Cunha’s transfer fee ranks as the eighth most expensive — fulfilling his childhood dream of playing for Manchester United.

“It’s very difficult to express my feelings about becoming a Manchester United player,” Cunha stated in his official announcement.
