Marselino Ferdinan Likely to Be Loaned Out from Oxford United

Marselino Ferdinan, the Indonesian national team midfielder, is reportedly seeking a loan move next season following a lack of playing opportunities at Oxford United.

The 19-year-old has only made two appearances this season — one in the FA Cup, and one late in the Championship, after the club had already secured safety from relegation.

Manager Rowett’s decision raises questions

Despite Oxford United being co-owned by Anindya Bakrie and Erick Thohir, current manager Gary Rowett has shown little interest in fielding Marselino. His name was not even included in Oxford Mail’s season recap of young contributors.

Not the first underwhelming stint abroad

This isn’t the first time Marselino has faced limited minutes. During the previous season at KMSK Deinze in the Belgian League, he managed only three appearances.

As a regular call-up for the Indonesia national team, Marselino is eager to find a club that will offer him meaningful game time rather than repeating another year of bench-warming.
