Marselino Ferdinan Injured, Delays Return to England

According to PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir, Marselino Ferdinan remains in Indonesia due to an injury issue — the young midfielder needs to recover fully before returning to England.

The 20-year-old midfielder was seen in the VVIP stands of Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, accompanied by PSSI officials, watching the final Group A match of the ASEAN Cup U-23 2025 between Indonesia and Malaysia.

Marselino Ferdinan sustained the injury while playing for Oxford United in the 2025 President’s Cup — he only featured once against Liga Indonesia All Star at SUGBK. Due to the injury, the former Persebaya Surabaya player was ruled out of Oxford’s last match against Arema FC at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium.
