Marquez Brothers Rivalry in MotoGP: The Truth About Ducati Bike Equality

According to Motorsport.com, the Marquez brothers’ rivalry in MotoGP has sparked an interesting discussion about Ducati’s bike upgrade policy. Alex Marquez — currently second in the standings — expresses his understanding of the policy, despite not receiving updates for his GP24.

While factory riders receive GP24 upgrades, satellite teams must remain patient. Meanwhile, Marc Marquez — who now leads the championship with four victories — revealed an interesting fact about the Aragon race.

“On Sunday at Aragon, we were using identical bikes to Alex’s, as the new components still need adjustment,” Marc disclosed.

Alex demonstrates sportsmanship regarding the situation. “I know Marc with my bike would still be faster than me this weekend — that doesn’t frustrate me, it motivates me,” he explained.

Ducati’s policy stipulates that any component updates must be distributed to all riders using the same bike model. This applies even though Alex is competing for the championship title and hasn’t received new components during testing in Jerez.
