Marc Marquez has already justified his decision to leave Honda for Ducati just two rounds into the 2025 MotoGP season. The 32-year-old rider endured a tough four-year stretch with Honda, including four surgeries to recover from a right arm injury.

“The greatest strength is passion. That’s where passion and what I want, which is to keep competing, becomes the number one priority,” stated Marquez to Estrella Galicia, as reported by MotoSan.

The six-time MotoGP world champion faced a difficult choice — leaving a team that had been his home for over a decade. “You stop working with lifetime friends who were my mechanics at Honda for ten to twelve years,” added the rider from Cervera.

Marquez’s decision to part ways with Honda marked a crucial turning point in his career — a choice between enduring continued struggles or seeking a fresh start to prove he remains a top contender in MotoGP. Now with Ducati, his early performances indicate that he is once again a serious title threat.
