Marc Marquez suffers two serious crashes on first day of Dutch MotoGP

Marc Marquez faces a challenging day at the Dutch MotoGP opening session at Assen Circuit — the Ducati rider is involved in two high-speed crashes.

The second incident appears more concerning — the 32-year-old rider requires marshal assistance after experiencing impacts causing bruising to several body parts.

“The crashes were different in character, but clean. I’m fortunate to avoid serious injuries,” states Marquez to MotoSan.

“The problem is this circuit lacks gravel, having rocks instead. When reaching that area, the rocks hit hard — during the second crash I even had difficulty breathing,” he adds.

The Spanish rider notes that this day becomes the most unusual of the season — with numerous red flags and difficulties understanding safe track limits.
