Marc Marquez recovers from poor start to claim Italian GP sprint victory

Marc Marquez demonstrated remarkable recovery in the Italian GP sprint race — the Ducati rider managed to rise from a poor start to claim victory.

Despite dropping to the bottom of the top 10 at the start due to left handlebar issues, Marquez climbed to third by the end of the first lap following a minor incident between Alex Marquez and Maverick Vinales.

The Ducati rider then passed his teammate Francesco Bagnaia on lap two before taking the lead from Alex Marquez — securing victory with a 1.4-second advantage.

The factory KTM team endured a difficult day — Brad Binder collided with Johann Zarco at Turn 1 and Acosta crashed at the final corner after running wide into the marbles.

The championship standings are now led by Marc Marquez with 245 points, 35 points ahead of Alex in second place, while Bagnaia holds third position with 147 points.
