Marc Marquez Leads Jerez MotoGP Test with New Ducati

Marc Marquez stole the spotlight at the official MotoGP test at Jerez Circuit by setting the best time of 1m35.876s, according to official MotoGP reports.

The Factory Ducati rider — who crashed out of yesterday’s race — led by more than three tenths of a second over KTM’s Maverick Vinales, who finished in second place.

Marquez’s Best Time and Ducati’s Performance

This test marked Ducati’s first opportunity to try new developments since the season began — with improved track conditions despite remaining windy. Marquez’s impressive lap time was a promising result for the Ducati team as they continue to refine their bike for the upcoming races.

Yamaha’s Significant Progress with New Engine

Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo showed significant progress with the new engine:

“The new engine provides more power than before. I’m very happy. The Grand Prix and this test were the best four days in the last three years.”

Other Teams’ Developments and Absentees

Other teams were also active in testing new components. Aprilia introduced a new rear wing package, while Honda unveiled an updated swing arm. KTM brought in development rider Dani Pedrosa for further testing.

Franco Morbidelli, however, missed the test after suffering a concussion from a heavy crash at Criville corner. Additionally, LCR Honda rookie Somkiat Chantra skipped the morning session due to arm pump issues.
