Marc Marquez finishes third in MotoGP Italy practice session

Marc Marquez shows promising performance in 2025 MotoGP Italy practice session — the Ducati Lenovo rider finishes third at Mugello Circuit.

Coming with high confidence after victory in Aragon, the eight-time world champion aims to match the performance of his brother Alex Marquez and teammate Francesco Bagnaia — the rider who has dominated this historic track for the past three years.

The Spanish rider records different results in two sessions — finishing fourth in morning FP1 and third in afternoon practice. In the one-hour session determining direct qualification to Q2, Marquez trails behind Maverick Vinales (KTM) and Bagnaia.

“I hoped to be further ahead of Alex and Pecco,” states Marquez. “In FP1, I was closer than expected and then we all made steps forward in practice.”
