Marc Marquez fails to dominate German MotoGP practice session

According to practice session results at Sachsenring, Marc Marquez — an eleven-time German GP winner — had to settle for third position on Friday (11/7/2025).

The Ducati Lenovo rider recorded a time of 1 minute 19.461 seconds — trailing behind Alex Marquez from BK8 Gresini Racing and Fabio Di Giannantonio from Pertamina Enduro VR46.

The top two riders managed to break the Sachsenring lap record:

• Alex Marquez: 1:19.408
• Di Giannantonio: 1:19.071

This result comes as a surprise considering Marc Marquez’s dominance on counter-clockwise tracks — as perfectly demonstrated at the previous MotoGP Aragon.
