Marc Marquez faces physical challenges after joining Ducati

Marc Marquez faces different challenges since joining the Ducati Lenovo team — his physical condition is not the same as before. The Spanish rider still feels the impact of the fatal accident in Jerez about five years ago, which required him to undergo four surgeries on his right arm.

Circuits dominated by right turns present a unique challenge for Marquez — as seen at Silverstone Circuit with its composition of 10 right turns and 8 left turns. However, this didn’t prevent him from securing second place in the Sprint Race and a podium finish in the main race.

“You can see where he makes the difference, which is entering corners and especially in left turns,” states Marco Rigamonti, Marquez’s crew chief. “However, telling you what he does on the bike to make that difference… Everything happens so fast, it’s difficult to understand exactly.”
