Marc Marquez dominates Italian MotoGP sprint race with new lap record

Ducati rider Marc Marquez showcased an impressive performance at Mugello Circuit — claiming victory in the 2025 Italian MotoGP sprint race after setting a new lap record during qualifying.

The six-time MotoGP world champion broke the lap record at Mugello Circuit with a time of 1 minute 44.169 seconds — surpassing the previous record held by Jorge Martin of 1 minute 44.500 seconds.

The sprint race victory adds 12 points for Marquez, solidifying his position atop the standings with 245 points total. Meanwhile, his brother Alex Marquez from Gresini team — had to settle for second place, while teammate Francesco Bagnaia continues to struggle finding his best form.
