Marc Marquez dominates German MotoGP amid high number of retirements

Marc Marquez demonstrated perfect dominance at the 2025 German MotoGP — the Ducati rider won the main race at Sachsenring Circuit after previously securing pole position and sprint race victory.

From 18 riders who started the race, only 10 managed to reach the finish line — eight others were forced to end their race early due to crashes on the challenging track.

Alex Marquez from Gresini team and teammate Francesco Bagnaia completed the podium in the 30-lap race — finishing second and third respectively.

This victory strengthens Marc Marquez’s position at the top of standings with 344 points — leading by 83 points over Alex Marquez and 147 points over Bagnaia.

Several riders could not participate in the race due to various reasons:

  • Maverick Vinales and Franco Morbidelli absent due to injuries
  • Enea Bastianini withdrew due to illness
  • Somkiat Chantra still in post-surgery recovery
  • Lorenzo Savadori replaced injured Jorge Martin
