Marc Marquez defends rivals after narrow victory at Dutch MotoGP

Marc Marquez expresses his disappointment over criticism directed at his competitors in the 2025 Dutch MotoGP — a race he won by a narrow margin.

The 32-year-old Ducati rider started from fourth position at Assen Circuit and managed to finish first — cementing his dominance this season with a 68-point lead in the standings after sweeping both sprint race and main race victories.

Marco Bezzecchi from Aprilia team who finished second with a 0.635-second gap became a target of criticism along with several other riders — including Alex Marquez who currently holds the runner-up position in the championship.

“I want to tell people that they need to respect all riders. In yesterday’s media scrum they started saying ‘ah, your brother doesn’t attack you like other riders’,” Marquez stated.

“In the end, if the front riders are at a very equal level, on this very narrow racing track, you cannot attack the front rider,” he added explaining the race situation.
