Ducati rider Marc Marquez remained calm despite a disappointing result in the Spanish Grand Prix, following a crash while battling with teammate Francesco Bagnaia early in the race.

Starting from second on the grid, the eight-time world champion dropped to the back after sliding into the gravel on lap three — but still managed to finish in 12th place.

“It was a crash I could have avoided due to excessive speed, and I realized that,” Marquez told Motosan. “I went wide and tried to stay on track. It was a left-hander, and I felt very comfortable.”

The Spanish rider made the statement after participating in a MotoGP test session at Jerez Circuit, where he still appeared reflective about the avoidable incident.
