Marc Marquez claims Italian MotoGP sprint race victory at Mugello

Marc Marquez secured victory in the 2025 Italian MotoGP sprint race at Mugello Circuit — cementing Ducati’s dominance on home soil.

The sprint race was marked by an incident at the first corner involving Johann Zarco from LCR Honda and Brad Binder from Red Bull KTM — both riders forced to retire after their bikes made contact.

Francesco Bagnaia led early in the race, but Alex Marquez from Gresini team took the lead after Pedro Acosta crashed out in the second lap. Fabio Quartararo, recently recovered from a shoulder injury, managed to hold fourth position.

“This victory means a lot to me and the Ducati team at our home circuit,” said Marc Marquez after the race.
