Marc Marquez claims dramatic victory at Rossi’s home circuit

Marc Marquez secured a historic victory with Ducati Lenovo at Mugello Circuit — Valentino Rossi’s legendary home track at the 2025 Italian MotoGP.

The eight-time world champion engaged in an intense battle with Francesco Bagnaia — including physical contact during the race. Despite briefly losing the lead to his brother Alex Marquez from Gresini team, Marc managed to reclaim the front position.

Fabio Di Giannantonio from Pertamina Enduro VR46 team secured third podium after seizing the opportunity to overtake Bagnaia in final laps — both riding Desmosedici GP25 machines.

A controversial incident occurred when Franco Morbidelli, Rossi’s senior student, performed a dangerous maneuver against Maverick Vinales from Red Bull KTM Tech3 — causing Vinales to crash and fail to finish the race.

The race began with Bagnaia shooting to the front in the opening lap, but his advantage didn’t last long as Marc Marquez launched his attack.
