Marc Marquez claims dramatic Qatar MotoGP victory despite collision

Marc Marquez secured victory in the 2025 Qatar MotoGP at Lusail Circuit — a triumph achieved through determination after an early race incident.

The Ducati rider completed a perfect weekend by claiming pole position and sprint race victory — but had to fight hard in the main race after colliding with Alex Marquez from Gresini team at the first corner.

“The contact with Alex was more my mistake, because I just opened the gas and felt the rear would move. I closed the gas again and he didn’t expect it, that’s why he hit me and Morbidelli could pass from the outside,” explained Marc Marquez.

Alex Marquez later encountered a second incident with Fabio Di Giannantonio from Pertamina Enduro VR46 team while battling for third position — resulting in a ride-through penalty and eventual sixth place finish after Maverick Vinales received a time penalty for tire pressure violation.
