Marc Marquez admits pushing too hard in German MotoGP sprint race

According to motogp.com, Ducati rider Marc Marquez admits pushing too hard during the 2025 German MotoGP sprint race.

Despite starting from pole position, the Spanish rider dropped to fifth place after going wide in the first corner — an incident caused by suboptimal tire temperatures.

“The first corner complicated everything, especially because the first two-three laps felt uncomfortable. I struggled with tire temperature which caused the mistake in the first corner,” Marquez stated.

“I decided to go wide and lose some positions, but stay in the race which was the most important thing. Initially, I thought about finishing between fourth and sixth position,” he added.

After tire temperatures reached ideal levels, Marquez managed to take the lead in the final lap — securing his 10th sprint victory of the season and extending his championship lead to 78 points.
