Manchester United Begin Talks with Frankfurt Striker Hugo Ekitike

Manchester United have initiated preliminary discussions with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike‘s representatives — a move that broadens their search for attacking reinforcements.

The club has missed out on Liam Delap who joined Chelsea, while Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres prefers a move to Arsenal. Ekitike himself impressed with 15 goals in the Bundesliga last season.

Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal are also interested in the 22-year-old striker. Meanwhile, United remains in negotiations with Brentford for Cameroonian striker Bryan Mbeumo who reportedly favors a move to Old Trafford.

United manager Ruben Amorim is keen to boost the team’s scoring power after only managing 44 goals in the league last season — a statistic only better than Everton and three relegated teams. Despite signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million, Amorim still wants to add at least one more forward.
