Manchester City Consider Bringing Back James Trafford

According to ESPN, Manchester City are considering bringing back James Trafford from Burnley — this emerges as a response to their current goalkeeper situation.

Speculation about Éderson’s future intensifies as Galatasaray reportedly prepares an offer for the Brazilian national team goalkeeper. However, City haven’t received any formal offers for Éderson who has one year remaining on his contract.

“I will stay at City this season,” Éderson insisted during the FIFA Club World Cup.

City holds a buy-back clause for Trafford, the 22-year-old goalkeeper they sold to Burnley two years ago. Newcastle United are also reportedly interested in his services.

City’s goalkeeper situation becomes more intriguing as Stefan Ortega — who also has one year left on his contract — is linked with a move to Bundesliga. Meanwhile, their third-choice goalkeeper, Marcus Bettinelli, recently joined on a one-year deal from Chelsea.

At right-back position, City aren’t planning to pursue Tino Livramento from Newcastle despite Kyle Walker’s departure to Burnley. Several players including Rico Lewis, Matheus Nunes, and Manuel Akanji can fill this position.
