Prediksi Mamelodi Sundowns vs Borussia Dortmund di Piala Dunia Antarklub (21.06.2025)

On Saturday, June 21 at 23:00 WIB, Mamelodi Sundowns from Pretoria will face Borussia Dortmund at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati in the second round of Group F of the 2025 Club World Cup. The South African side leads the group after a 1-0 victory over Ulsan HD from South Korea. Meanwhile, the German team played out a goalless draw against Fluminense from Rio de Janeiro.

Ahead of the Mamelodi Sundowns vs Borussia Dortmund clash, bookmakers’ predictions are entirely in favor of the European club. A bet on a win for the “yellow-blues” comes with odds of 10.50, a draw at 6.25, and a “black-yellows” win at just 1.28. Football analysts expect a fairly high-scoring match, with over 2.5 total goals priced at 1.55. However, goals are mostly expected from the favorites, and bets for both teams to score are offered at a high 2.02.

Mamelodi Sundowns

Portuguese coach Miguel Cardoso has only been in charge of the South African team for about six months. Under his leadership, the team confidently and predictably won the domestic league. However, in the CAF Champions League final over two legs, the “yellow-blues” lost 2-3 on aggregate to Cairo’s Pyramids.

Given that the South African league ended back on May 18, participation in the CAF Champions League helped Mamelodi Sundowns stay in competitive form. Their solid physical condition was evident in the opening match against Ulsan, where they managed to maintain territorial and tactical control, even if not completely dominant. One of their chances was converted by striker Iqraam Rayners, who, alongside Lucas Ribeiro, is one of the club’s key attacking players.

Borussia Dortmund

Niko Kovač showed little emotion during the first match of the tournament against Brazil’s Fluminense. Despite being the favorites, the “black-yellows” clearly played second fiddle. The players took every chance to lie on the pitch, and some looked noticeably out of shape. To be fair, this is the summer break for most European clubs, and it showed on the field. Borussia didn’t even shift into second gear. Future matches will reveal whether the team can step up and find form as the tournament progresses.

Stats and Head-to-Head Record

The South African and German clubs have never faced each other before.

Prediction

It’s hard to believe that Borussia, in their current physical condition, can dominate and push forward throughout the entire match. The recommended bet is on Mamelodi Sundowns with a +3.5 corner handicap, at odds of 1.80.
