Malr1ne Felt Team Falcons Could Not Win the Finals

Team Falcons midlaner Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak gave a surprising response after his team was swept 0-3 by Team Spirit in yesterday’s (July 20) Dota 2 EWC 2025 finals.

Though not the tournament’s biggest favorite, the decisive loss still shocked their fans – especially the home crowd – particularly after their strong improvement from the group stage to the playoffs.

Before the finals, Falcons had delivered an impressive clean sweep against Navi, Team Liquid, and Tundra Esports, often overcoming early-game deficits. Unfortunately, Spirit’s efficient play broke that momentum, giving Falcons no chance for a comeback.

The result left Falcons fans questioning what went wrong behind the scenes. Addressing this, Malr1ne admitted he actually had doubts facing Spirit in the finals.

Via his personal Telegram channel, he explained that he and his Falcons teammates were struggling to adapt to the latest meta and learned every single thing on the fly. He felt they were lucky enough to reach the finals and doubted from the start they could beat Spirit, who he considers a level above them.

Despite the loss, Malr1ne remains optimistic that Falcons can bounce back and improve their performance for The International 2025.
