Malik Tillman joins Bayer Leverkusen from PSV

Malik Tillman has officially joined Bayer Leverkusen from PSV Eindhoven on a five-year contract.

The United States national team player revealed his mixed emotions to ESPN following the transfer.

“I’m happy and excited — it’s a good step for my career. I definitely have mixed feelings about leaving PSV, but that’s football. I’m going to miss the players, coaches, and everyone at the club,” said Tillman.

Leverkusen’s sporting director, Simon Rolfes welcomed the arrival of the player who can operate as both an attacking and central midfielder — “He is an absolute top signing for us.”

Before joining PSV, Tillman was a Bayern Munich academy product who had a loan spell at Rangers. Last season, he scored 16 goals and provided 5 assists in 34 appearances for PSV.
