Malaysian national team seeks friendlies with strong Asian teams

Zainal Abidin Hassan, FAM Competition Committee Vice Chairman, states that Malaysian national team now seeks friendly matches against strong Asian teams — a step to measure the team’s capabilities.

This statement comes after the Harimau Malaya recorded a decisive 4-0 victory over Vietnam in the 2027 World Cup Qualifiers Group F earlier this month.

“I think we are reaching a stage where we need to consider facing teams like South Korea, Japan or teams from West Asia,” said Zainal Abidin.
