Malaysia withdraws from CAFA Nations Cup 2025

According to FAM’s official website, the Malaysian National Team has officially withdrawn from the CAFA Nations Cup 2025 — a competition organized by the Central Asian Football Association.

The tournament scheduled to take place in Tajikistan from August to September 2025 — was initially set to feature eight participating nations:

• Afghanistan
• Iran
• Kyrgyzstan
• Malaysia
• Oman
• Tajikistan
• Turkmenistan
• Uzbekistan

Through an official announcement on their website, FAM stated the reason for withdrawal — the match schedule falling outside the FIFA Matchday period became the main consideration for this decision.
