Malaysia U-23 Team Ready to Face ASEAN Cup in Jakarta

Malaysia’s U-23 national team is preparing for the 2025 ASEAN Cup U-23 tournament scheduled to take place in Jakarta next month.

Coach Nafuzi Zain revealed that his team is currently undergoing the Elite Games program — an initiative to strengthen team cohesion before the tournament.

“Malaysia has many talented young players. Elite Games are held to monitor player performance as we have a large group of players,” explained Nafuzi.

“This is to achieve compatibility and also to spot talents that will be highlighted in the future. We also see this project as preparation for the U-23 squad for the ASEAN Cup U-23, Asian Cup U-23 Qualifications and also SEA Games,” he added.

The Young Tigers squad will be in Group A — alongside hosts Indonesia U-23 national team in the competition.
