Malaysia national team ready to face World Cup team at CAFA Nations Cup

Coach Peter Cklamovski leads Malaysia national team into a new challenge — the CAFA Nations Cup 2025 tournament to be held in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Eight teams will compete in this Central Asian regional competition, with Malaysia and Oman as special invitees. The tournament will take place from late August to early September.

The tournament participants are divided into two groups:

• Group A: Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Oman
• Group B: Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Malaysia

Malaysia will get a special opportunity to face Iran — a team that has already secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
