Malaysia Eliminated from 2025 Sudirman Cup by China

The Malaysia national badminton team suffered a heavy defeat to China in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Sudirman Cup, held at Xiamen Fenghuang Gymnasium, China.

Malaysia’s mixed doubles pair, Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, were the first to fall, losing to Feng Yan Zhe/Huang Dong Ping in straight sets, 17-21, 17-21.

In the men’s singles, Leong Jun Hao was outclassed by Shi Yu Qi with a score of 6-21, 14-21. Meanwhile, Karupathevan Letshanaa was defeated by Chen Yu Fei in the women’s singles, 8-21, 7-21.

This loss eliminates Malaysia from medal contention, as teams must reach the semi-finals to secure a place on the podium.
